Term Definition
Accessibility tree The hierarchical structure exposed by a user agent to assistive technologies.
Accessible name The string by which assistive technologies refer to an element.
Codegen mode Execution mode that emits a Playwright .spec.ts file.
Direct mode Execution mode that runs steps live in-process against a Playwright browser.
Engine An external scanner — @afixt/afixt-engine in the reference implementation.
Extension case A use case that declares extends: <id>. Extending is keyed on that field, not on type (§4.2).
Inapplicable An iterated use case whose for_each resolved to zero elements.
Iteration A single replay of a case's steps with self bound to one element from scope.for_each.
Iterated use case A use case with a scope.for_each field; replays its steps once per matching element.
Negative case A use case designed to trigger an error path or exception.
Positive case A use case designed to confirm the happy path.
Resolved use case A use case after schema validation, extension resolution, template interpolation, and step parsing.
Role token A short-form name for an ARIA role used in the Step Language.
self token A role token resolvable only inside a scope.for_each body; binds to the current iteration element.
Use case A goal-oriented workflow described by a single use case document.
